Latest Questions For The Doctor:
Q. I am a 47 year old woman who has been on Inderal for 25 years. Is it possible for me to get off this drug and on another without my pulse going as fast as a jack rabbits? Play Video
A. It depends entirely on the reason it was started. Do you have a heart rhythm disorder such as atria fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia, or coronary artery disease? Some people are prescribed for simple sinus tachycardia (fast heart beat) and a feeling of palpitations. That needs to be worked out in discussion with your doctor who may answer the above.
Q. i have blisters on my right side that itch badly. What can this be? Play Video
A. Blisters are technically known as vesicles and have a variety of causes, including contact with things to which you may be allergic or sensitive. The best example of this is poison ivy. More painful blisters that are in a localized area suggest herpes zoster, otherwise known as shingles.
Q. I have sharp pain in my left shoulder blade and numbness in my left arm as well. Do you know what it could be? Play Video
A. This type of pain and its location are either orthopedic, bone or joint related, or neurologic, pinched nerve or spinal nerve pressure. Anything from a rotator cuff inflammation to cervical spine nerve impingement could be the cause. Your family doctor can direct you to the right specialist if necessary.
